POSITION SUMMARYManage by planning, organizing, and controlling all activities for the Used Sales Department while maximizing gross profit and customer satisfaction. Meets dealerships targets, implement advertising and marketing activities, recruit, trains and coach staff. 

Manage used cars from appraisal to retail/wholesale liquidation with goal of a 45-60 days supply on the ground.  

  • Appraising used vehicles daily goal of making every new car deal possible while making sound used car decision based on wholesale/retail market inventory management- stocking the lot with the right quantity and mix of vehicles (max 60-day supply), carefully forecast and develop strategic plans for allocation.
  • daily process of used vehicles through service, body shop, detail to ensure correct stocking decisions and speed to being lot ready
  • price and post description v-auto day 1 in stock
  • have and monitor process to get pictures uploaded as early as possible
  • daily evaluate/adjust pricing of existing inventory based on available info
  • make quick retail –vs- wholesale decisions
  • coordinate posting and monitoring vehicles to online auction sites
  • daily recap with new car manager on unsold appraisals
  • Management planning- developing an annual forecast and business plan to accomplish the forecast.  attend monthly department head meetings and advertising meeting.  developing best practices. 


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Inventory Management- Stocking the lot with the right quantity and mix of vehicles (Max 60-day supply), Carefully forecast and develop strategic plans for allocation.

  • Advertising and Marketing- Developing effective plans for social media and reputation management - plans to drive in new business and retain current owner base, adhere to monthly budgets
  • Merchandising- Creating exciting displays on the lot and in the showrooms
  • Customer Satisfaction Management- reviewing surveys, resolving customer concerns and making sure we achieve required numbers
  • Desking-  Working payments, knowing the programs, running leases, finding the best deals, helping salespeople close deals, unsold up follow up, developing an effective traffic control system, making sure rebates are correct…
  • Management Planning- developing an annual forecast and business plan to accomplish the forecast.  Attend monthly department head meetings, advertising meeting and factory meetings.  Developing best practices. 
  • Human Resources- Developing a high-performance team.  Recruiting, Hiring, Training, Coaching, Motivating… Reinforces company policies a adheres to policies

Required Qualifications:                    

5 + years of proven automotive sales track record                                                             

Strong Leadership, Motivation, Counseling and Coaching Skills

Strong Communication Skills

Positive CSI numbers                                                                                           

Organizational skills                                                                                           

Negotiating Skills     

Valid and clean NYS Driver license                                                                                                                                            

Preferred Qualifications:                                                                     

Previous Management or Leadership Experience

Education:                                                                                                             

Minimum of High School degree or equivalent                                            

College degree with a strong emphasis on business skills preferred
